Thorsten Kühn

Chair of the European Breast Cancer Research Organisation of Surgical Trialists (EUBREAST), DE

Professor Kühn is Senior physician at the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the University of Ulm, Germany.

His main fields of expertise are:

  • surgical gynaecology / oncology
  • minimal invasive surgical techniques
  • plastic reconstructive surgical procedures /senology

He was awarded the postdoctoral lecturing qualification for gynaecology and obstetrics by the University of Ulmin 2002.

He was appointed Head physician of the Clinical Centre for Women’s Health at the Hospital Esslingen/Neckar, academic teaching hospital of the Tübingen University, and Head of the Interdisciplinary Breast Centre in Esslingen.

From 2010 to 2019, Professor Kühn was member of the expert committee for the development of the interdisciplinary German S3 guideline entitled „Diagnostics and treatment of breast cancer“.

He is a currently a Member of the surgical sub-board of the GBG (German Breast Group),Member of the Executive Board of AGO-B (Research Board “Breast” of the German working Group for Gynecologic Oncology) and Founding member and 1. Chairman of the European Breast Cancer Research Organisation of Surgical Trialists (EUBREAST).
